Staring down the moving walkway
Travel now for one sometimes three;
No solace knowing this situation
Will gain members inevitably
The clunking grates beneath my feet
Boldly move two painted words:
WALK or STAND
Which one should I choose?
Consternation fills my thoughts;
I edge forward straddling both sides
Clear-eyed with focus ahead
Discerning the destination bears no divide
Do I STAND, let life roll me by
Or WALK, risking life’s hasty endpoint arrival;
The answer grows clear: heads up, step forward
India will be my travel revival
TRAVELING ALONG - SYNOPSIS
Death has a habit of changing evens to odds. The decision to continue adventurous travel without my soulmate of 42 years came to me on an airport walkway. Alternate travel partners were entertained but everyone was at a different stage of life. The question swirling in my brain ---- do I wait for people to “catch up” with matching life circumstances or do I move along life’s path?
In the end, I reasoned the destination of life is ultimately the same for everyone. The only difference is that movement with adventurous travel risks getting there sooner.
The answer became clear----I would return to the place travel started for Ken and I in the early ‘80’s----India it would be!
