Mirror, Mirror
What do you see?
My mother, my father
My grandfather, maybe?
Mirror, Mirror
What will I be?
A swimmer, a scholar, a pianist
Or all three?
Amelia Anne
Whatever you do
I know one thing for sure
You will always be YOU!
THE STORY…
Amelia Anne, age 7, is my oldest grandchild. She carries my middle name, her mother’s middle name, and her great grandmother’s first name. As the first grandchild, the proverbial question amongst family and friends was always “Who do you think she looks like?”
The poem, although simply written in the language of an inquisitive child, messages an inspiration from her grandmother.
